It’s a big learning curve. There are things I would have done differently in retrospect but I’m happy with where we are now. Ocho helps me with things that are difficult in a wheelchair. He picks things up, unloads the washing machine, opens doors, removed my clothes etc.
I’m the only Nurse in a wheelchair with an assistance dog as far as we know. Ocho made me feel like I could keep going. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t still be working as a nurse.
